Supporting local sustainability causes with the East Anglia THREE Windfarm
evolve
As a supplier of solutions for print, we understand that we have a role to play when it comes to being responsible with sustainability. Eco-initiatives therefore are at the forefront of our minds, and we will always do all we can to ensure the solutions we provide to businesses and the causes that we support help to restore the eco-balance wherever possible.
At Evolve we understand the importance of eco-initiatives, so we only supply the most eco-friendly hardware.
Energy efficient hardware, recycling and supporting print tracking to encourage responsible usage are all things that play a part in what we do, whilst a recent collaboration allowed us to have a direct impact on an important local renewable energy initiative.
Siemens Energy Ltd and the East Anglia THREE Windfarm
The East Anglia Hub is an offshore wind complex in the North Sea made up of a cluster of windfarms. When complete, the entire project will consist of 200 turbines in total with plans for it to create enough power to supply clean energy to 2.7 million British homes.
East Anglia THREE is part of a North Sea windfarm cluster, and contractor Siemens Energy came to Evolve looking for support for its onshore converter station.
One phase of this project is East Anglia THREE (EA3), a site that’s approximately 69km from the Suffolk coastline and is the second of four windfarms that will form the East Anglia Hub. Siemens Energy Ltd is the principal contractor that’s building the onshore converter station ready to receive the cables that will bring the power from the offshore site to Bramford, Suffolk.
Going the extra mile
The Evolve-Siemens Energy relationship began when Alan Graham, Project Co-ordinator for Siemens Energy Ltd first approached us regarding a quote for printers and a plotter with a service package. Once we discovered more about this fantastic eco-project that was happening on our doorstep, and the incredible impact it would have on the local community, our Managing Director Ross offered to purchase many of the items required for the day-to-day running of the converter station.
We like to support local projects where we can, like the EA3 Windfarm, which is being built 69km from the Suffolk coastline.
The appeal of this local business relationship was shared – although Evolve weren’t the only company that Alan approached for a quotation, he wanted to work with a local company, and as a whole, Siemens Energy encourages its staff to source as much locally as possible. This really was mutual community support at its finest!
Not only did Evolve supply the project with printers and a plotter with a service package, but we also provided TVs, kettles, fridges, fridge-freezers, plates, bowls, cutlery, cameras with SIM cards, conference speakers and computer monitors to name a few things. We wanted to show our dedication to this local project and the huge positive impact it will have on creating a greener planet for the future.
Alan says, “Ross and his team have gone above and beyond with the service they have offered to Siemens Energy, and I am sure this will be the beginning of a great service from them.”
The friendly team at Evolve are ready to support you with your print solution requirements.
